Resolution and redemption
Market lifecycle
Section titled “Market lifecycle”- Open: The market is accepting trades.
- Closed: Trading has stopped, but the result may still be pending.
- Resolved: The official process has selected the winning outcome.
- Settled: The payout has been credited and the position is final.
A market can remain closed for some time before it resolves.
How a result is selected
Section titled “How a result is selected”Every market names the rules and source used to decide the result. That source may wait for certification, corrections, or disputes even when the event appears finished.
Oddeon follows the result reported by the underlying market route. Headlines, social posts, and personal interpretations do not determine settlement.
Winning and losing positions
Section titled “Winning and losing positions”For a standard binary market:
- Winning shares settle at $1 each.
- Losing shares settle at $0 each.
- Realized profit or loss reflects your total position cost, proceeds, payout, and applicable fees.
Why redemption can take time
Section titled “Why redemption can take time”The venue must confirm the result, and settlement may require one or more blockchain transactions. A position can therefore show Resolved before its payout is available.
Treat the payout as spendable only after it appears in your available balance.
If you disagree with a result
Section titled “If you disagree with a result”Reread the resolution rules and source on the market page. If you still believe the result is wrong, save the market URL and relevant evidence, then contact support. Support can investigate the record but cannot override a correctly applied external rule.
